shop update…
I haven’t posted much lately because I haven’t been doing much. Since I have been making knives, I feel like every knife is a little better than the last knife. The only times that is not the case is when I do something new. I had something new to do so I have been procrastinating the last two weeks. This morning, I finally decided to dive in.
This was the first knife I did the bolsters on by myself. The previous one was a lesson from Jim Dunlap and he did most of the work. This morning, I took that lesson and put it to use. I have to say, it wasn’t smart to put this off two weeks, it was pretty simple.
This is a knife for a friend of mine and big collector. We agreed on something but then he sent me a pic of his collection, and what we decided on I didn’t feel lived up to the rest of what he had. I decided to do mammoth on this and it was the first time I have used mammoth. I am pleased with what I got. I could have thinned it a little more, this is a hefty knife, but it works.
Here are the stats:
Lanny’s Clip
CPM154 Blade and Spring
410 SS Mill Relieved Liners
Pivot Bushing
Stainless Steel Bolsters
Mammoth Bark Covers
800 grit hand sanded blade finish
12” Hollow Ground
Custom Storage Box
Thanks for looking and as always, if you like this or something else you have seen me make, please reach out and let’s plan a build for you.
